Meno's brain rot

Why that would be my day Monday.

I had such great plans. I was gonna make some shortbread cookies, a couple of dozen of bran muffins but I spent the day playing games on the Wii and the damned DS.

Was supposed to be relaxing on my day off but gawd, I get myself wound up playing those games.

I did make a shed load of hubby's favorite pasta sauce which pleased him to no end. He could eat pasta every night if I let him.

I sat at one end of the table watching him scarf whole wheat pasta with homemade pasta sauce and I ate sauteed eggplant and pasta sauce.

*whimpers*

I used to get wound up playing games on the PS3.

Well doing a full length Grand Prix will do that to you. And killing lots of aliens or flying a jet fighter or driving a getaway car....

Not the best way to relax.

And all that "I'll just try that once more" till you realise that the sun is coming up is not good either.

LOL... i so know this feeling.... I always get totally caught up in the XBOX and then realise it is 3 in the morning and I'm wide awake and buzzing !

Well in that case just make him a large vat of his favourite pasta sauce for when you're away & he can eat that all week! Saves you having to think & worry too much about what to make & freeze him while you're away

I love my Nintendo DS. All I play now is Animal Crossing although I am not getting any further for some reason!

  Hubby loves a red sauce with meat. When tomatoes are ripe and beautifully red, I will make a sauce with tomatoes, celery, onions, garlic, oregano, basil, parsley, salt and pepper. I may add some fresh chicken legs to simmer in the sauce. Sometimes I use ground beef but last night I used ground chicken and it was nice.
  
  When tomatoes are not in season, I use canned diced or crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce and tomato paste.

YOur souce sounds delish - I've never thought of adding celery - will try that tonight. Mozzarella is great with aubergines.

btw how do you get on with wholewheat pasta ? I've trained myself to like it - my friends refuse

  Mira, I lurve whole wheat pasta. You really can't tell the difference in that and regular pasta so I don't know what folks go on about it for. My daughter is not fussy about w/w pasta either.

    *mwaah* thank you .. yummy eggplant sauce ! Fantastico I think the spaghetti is nicer than the pene . There are different brands and the really healthy ones are a bit boring X

I'm the same with my DS. Haven't got a Wii yet. Hopefully, my family will 'surprise' me with one at christmas =P

I shouldn't have read your post, though! I'm trying to get off pasta. 'Tis not too healthy (but then I'm not very healthy, either!) but stilll!

I get this tinned pasta sauce in a jar from the supermarket. I prefer the one that boasts "extra mushrooms". How very accurate. It usually has precisely one more mushroom than the 'original' variety.

Give me extra mushrooms every time. (That's why I'm such a fun-gi).
